Welcome to the Leading Today Anthology Site

Welcome to the Leading Today Wiki-Site!

Leading Today is a site with a single goal: to profile outstanding young leaders who have helped to make the world a better place.

For the purposes of this anthology, young leaders are 13-22 years old and use the following strategies to work toward social change:

activism/movement-building
advocacy/lobbying
community organizing
faith-based leadership
fundraising/philanthropy
national and international service (Americorps/Peace Corps)
participatory research
politics
social entrepreneurship
student government
volunteerism
youth council/boards

Don't worry if your work does not fall into a distinct category. You are still welcome to post an entry as long as you have a history of working for positive change.

Submission Guidelines

According to Merriam Webster's Dictionary, a profile is a "concise biographical sketch". You don't have to start from birth but you should speak about the young person's interest in social change, what s/he has done to challenge an issue of importance and what the results of his/her efforts were. Profiles can be posted by the young subject or by someone who is familiar with his/her work. Try your best to write a compelling narrative. TO ENSURE WE PROFILE AS MANY YOUTH AS POSSIBLE, NO ENTRY SHOULD EXCEED 400 WORDS.

For consistency, we ask that you format your entries in the same way:

[NAME], [AGE]
[STATE OR NATION]

[BODY OF PROFILE]

Please note that YDE plans only limited editing to this project. Please fully proofread and edit your profile before publishing your submission. Please do not edit a profile that you have not written.
